Entrepreneur and Speaker Simon Sinek explains what he calls the Millennial Question. Essentially… “What do we do with these Kids?” So what does this have to do with us you ask? Ministry leaders have been essentially asking the exact same question that these business leaders have been asking. These days, we are struggling to understand why it is that Millennials have, for the most part, either abandoned the Faith or at the least, abandoned the Church. Of course what is convenient for us is to just blame them for being selfish… and we often do. But what is needed is for us to try and understand them, and meet them where they are.

First, let us acknowledge that these are challenging times. There is a pandemic happening in our midst, and it has probably not reached its peak yet. Although currently, its effect seems to be worse for those over 50 and those with compromised immune systems, we must all be conscientious of our choices because we have a responsibility to one another.

December 14, 2019 from 2PM-4PM, we will be having a Christmas Painting Class at The Community Church of Pine Run to raise funds for our 2020 Education Scholarships. Space is limited to 25 people so you need to get your registration in quickly if you want to participate. Local artist Eve Alexandria has titled our painting “Do You See What I See” from the mid 20th century classic Christmas song, “Do You Hear What I Hear” by Noël Regney and Gloria Shayne.
For the 31st we will be tearing down several old concrete walls to make room for the new construction. So grab your gloves, your safety glasses, and your fierce determination; and come join us.
Lately, I have been thinking a lot about how we fit into the narrative of our times. What role do we play here? We are a small rural congregation in north Washington Township, What service of any real importance could we possibly offer the Kingdom of God? Especially considering how far gone American society is now….But there are reasons to be optimistic.
